Configuring Zyxel 650HW ADSL Router

After I published this guide, I was informed that ZyXEL routers seem to have a problem if you forward single ports, so you must use a range of ports. In this guide, the range that I used was chosen to keep your network as safe as possible, by opening only 2 ports. I used 4662, 4663. You will need to change the ports inside eMule to get this guide to work properly. Simply click on the preferences tab, then choose connections. Once there, change the ports to the ports listed above (the order doesn't really matter, just make sure they are all different).

Using the Web-setup function

First find out your machine's LAN IP

Connect to the router by entering following in your browser's address bar: http://10.0.0.1:2033. If your Zyxel Prestige router does have another access to configuration, consult the manual how to connect to the router. Enter your username and password. After the initial screen has loaded, below Advanced Setup heading find NAT tab.

Now you should be at the page titled Nat - Mode. Under Network Address Translation select SUA Only radio-button. Click the Edit Details link beside that radio-button.

Now you should be at a page called NAT - Edit SUA/NAT Server Set. On the page you will see a list of rules for your router, which goes like: 1, 2 and so on. Just leave rule number 1, and begin with the next available rule number. In the Start Port No. field of your chosen rule type the start port 4662. In the End Port No. field type the end port 4664. In the IP Address field type your Local IP Address. Push the Save button. It should look like the picture below when you are finished.

Push the Apply button. Commence the Logout procedure.
