Generic / Other Router Configuration

Try looking at www.portforward.com to see if they have a description of your particular router!

This is a pretty generic way to configure eMule to work with your router. This does not give specific examples, and should work with most routers.

With most routers you need to enter through a web browser. To do this you usually type in one of the following IP addresses: 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 . Once you enter this IP and press enter, you should be prompted to log into your router. Usually the router will ask for a Username and Password. A few generic combinations used by mainstream routers are as follows (Username, Password):
  • admin, password
  • admin, *(BLANK)*
  • *(BLANK)*, admin

Once logged in, you are going to have to search through some categories or display trees for a section which is labeled either Port Forwarding or Virtual Server. When you find these settings you will be asked to fill out a field something like this:

IP Address - Start Port - End Port, Port Type (UDP/TCP)

Then you need to find Find your LAN IP.

Now that we have an IP address, we need to deal with the ports. The default ports you need to forward are TCP Port: 4662 and UDP Port: 4672. Ok, your finished!
