Configuring Kerio Personal Firewall 4 This is one of the easiest firewalls to configure for use with eMule. You only have to do 3 very simple steps. After installing Kerio you are told to reboot your machine, do so. After the reboot it will most likely ask you which programs you want to allow access to. I don’t go into info about what you should do here, but a simply rule to guide you is that if you know the program it should have internet access. Allow it, if you don't know it, don’t let it have access! When that is finished, you are going to want to start eMule. When you start eMule for the first time after installing Kerio, a box will appear, it will look almost exactly the same as the first image below. The box will have a section for a tick-mark, you want to tick this. Refer to first image if you don’t see it. You simply tell Kerio to create a rule and don’t ask you again, then choose to "Permit" access. The next box will not appear until you press "connect" inside eMule. When this box appears, do exactly the same thing, choose to create a rule and permit access. Another box should appear as well, again allow access and create a rule. This works flawlessly and allows eMule full access to only the necessary ports, you should have no problems after following these directions. ![]() ![]() |
