Configuring a Edimax router

First, browse to your router. Out of the box it will be 192.168.0.1 but in our little demonstration it will be 10.0.0.1
You will be prompted for a username and password (those should be "administrator" as username and "1234" as password). If all is done correctly you should see the following screen:

Now, click on "General Setup" and the screen should look like this:

Click on "NAT" and make sure that it is set to "Enable". Your screen should look like this:

Click on "Port Forwarding". Now your screen should look like this (notice that there are already a few ports forwarded):

Here is where the actual configuration is done.

Under "Private IP" You should enter the IP of the machine that's actually running E-mule. It is best to set a static (manual) IP on that machine to avoid any unpleasent surprises.

Under "Type" you set the communication type (TCP, UDP or Both). Best leave it at "Both" (it will save you another configuration line for the UDP).

Under "Port Range" you input the start and end ports (starting port on the left and end port on the right - for a single port, input the same number in both fields).

Under "Comment" you put some text to help remind you what is the function of that configuration line (Like "icq" and so on in the screen shot).
